[Forum Event] Ferency Ball Gowns (and Suits!)

Post « Luci » Sat Jan 11, 2020 9:43 am

The Ferency Ball was not just a great opportunity to rub elbows, but it also offered a chance to show off many of the fancy gowns and outfits that people had made or purchased from the cities tailors and beyond.

Showing off wasn't just about outdoing the competition, or even mutual admiration, but also to show your personal style and reflecting on what direction fashion should take.

((OOC: This is a forum event! Your character can join in the festivities by showing off their outfit for the ball, be it a beautiful gown or an expertly crafted suit.

Entries should be made with the character themselves and should explain the details of their outfit. You are allowed to use images, but this is not required: an extended description will also do just fine.

You have until Sunday January 19th (GMT) to make an entry. After that, the topic closes and the event ends. Everyone who participates will receive experience points, and you might see your contribution affect the fashion in Duirt!

You can enter with more than one character, but please make a separate entry for each and post with the character themselves (it makes it easier to process the experience later)

I will give some extra bonus experience to especially elaborate, awesome or colorfully described outfits.

To get you started, I've posted the gowns and suits that were shown by NPCs during the event below, each with a short description - I am sure you can do better though, and remember, images are appreciated but NOT required!))

Despite the tensions between Lord Sterker and Eccles, House Asa made a big appearance, Lady Milanna Asa appearing in a beautiful dark blue gown with fine detailing and a blue lace choker to match and Earl Hermes Asa himself in a shirt of the same colour covered by a white vest and coat of fine craftsmanship.

Lady Anastasia Treny, the wife of the Baron, also joined in a modest burgundy red gown with white detailing. Though appearing simpler at first glance, there were beautiful patterns woven into the fabric of various flowers and the embroidery was quite exquisite.

Image

The Marquise of House Elwyn wore some more traditional bronze robes of the highest quality fabric, the fine elven craftsmanship immediately obvious in its intricacy.

Image

House Merout had sent the daughter of the House Lord, Lady Ariwen Merout in a beautiful purple gown with shorter sleeves and fine gold lace detailing in the front, with a large gemstone on a white gold chain around her neck matching the gown in colour.

Image

The Demha girls had come as well, with surprisingly little drama. Lady Llewella had the most notable black gown, with fine detailing and a very long gray train that reminded one of the fashions that had come of the mainland some time ago, a black lace choker around her neck.

Image

Her sister, Lady Eleanor had a similar gown in a lighter colour with equally big puffs on the sleeves but a different distribution of lace. She had a beautiful hairpiece of black and gray flowers, most likely fake as there grew none such in the area and a lace choker to match her sisters.

Image

Lady Illia Tolmin, the almost permanent companion of the Demha girls, had also come wearing black but with a bit more white in the bodice and underskirt showing through the fine silk.

Image

Finally, Viscount Ferency made his own appearance, wearing a finely embroidered suit with pieces of ceremonial armour and a heavy cloak, making him look like a fine war mage.

Sir Vazax Ferency made his rounds as well Taking his time to greet each guest and rub elbows. He was seen flattering all the Noble Ladies and was seen on the dance floor with Lady Ariwen Merout Talking softly to her through two whole dances before excusing himself. Many thought thy saw a smile on Lady Ariwen's face. Could something be happening with these two? Image

Rumor has it that Dumas of House Naikl is out at Foxy's tailor shop getting fitted for a new look. Some thing simple yet noble for a man of his stature.

Image

Once the outer long coat is removed. A loose fitted shirt can be seen. Hiding his well chiseled body.

Image

To complete the look a jeweled silver sword had been added for show.

((Just Invision the bigger man wearing this))

Wearing something that looks like this, Image Katrina dances with Alicia Ferency. It's fairly obvious that she recycled last year's gown but added some more sparkles to it.

After dancing with Alicia, Katrina roams the ballroom, occasionally grazing at the buffet table, and keeping a eye open to see if Lord Sterker turns up.

Malak is seen for a while, dressed in robes a little more formal than his usual scholarly robes, his glowing blue eyes flicking around... though it is clear he more arrived for decorum's sake as he does not stay long.
